Welcome to another exciting year in choir!
Dear choral department parents and students,

Welcome to another exciting year in the choral music department at REVHS!  By now, all of your sons/daughters have been given letters describing events, the ordering of their uniforms, etc. for their specific ensemble.  If you have not received one, please ask them for it.  In this letter you will find some detailed information regarding the rental or ordering of uniforms.  All rental and purchase money is due to the finance office no later than Friday, October 3rd. Students will not be given their uniforms until this fee is paid.  Also, at our Open House on September 18th you will be given more important information regarding student travel, fund raising, our booster organization, etc.  Please plan to attend this important school event.  Evening of the Arts will be held the last week of October.  All choirs will be performing at this event so please plan to attend.  It is a great evening for our music and theater departments and is a favorite event for parents.

Our department handbooks and calendars will be given to students the week of September 8th.  There are forms in the back that must be returned to school no later than Friday, September 19th so please look for them.  The department calendars are quite comprehensive so please keep them in a handy place for easy reference.   Our first fund raising opportunity is Gold Canyon Candles, and the information was given to the students on September 8th.  Please assist you student with this great fund raiser.

Once again, the choral department at REVHS is the largest in the history of the school.  In addition, I am pleased to say that I have the honor of being the director with the most years at REVHS.  I am so excited about the work the students have done so far.  Their energy and enthusiam for music will make them great performing ensembles.

I look forward to seeing you at Open House on September 18th.  A flyer regarding Evening of the Arts will be sent home soon.  Please make certain the uniform money for your student's ensemble is sent to school immediately.

I look forward to meeting and working with you all this year as partners in your student's music education.  I know we will make a great team and appreciate your support of the choral music department.  Please do not hesitate to e-mail or call if you have questions.

Calendar updates
EVS parents and students need to watch the calendar section carefully as this fall semester is going to be a very busy one.  New dates will be added on a regular basis so please check this website often.

EVS Retreat
EVS will be going to the mountains for an intensive 3-day retreat to learn their very difficult fall and holiday music.  As you know due to first semester finals, we have one less week ih December to do our concerts.  This means we have more to learn in less time.   A letter was sent home to you all in August regarding the payment of $195.00 for our retreat and uniform rental.  Many of you have not paid and need to do so immediately.  Students will not be allowed to attend this mandatory event until they are paid in full.  The price for retreat is $150.00 and needs to be paid to the finance office.  In addition,  the EVS uniforms are at the dry cleaners and need to be collected.  EVS students will not be allowed to perform with their group until their $45.00 rental fee is paid to the finance office.  These monies were due last month.  Please pay the $195.00!  Thanks to all the wonderful parents who volunteered to chaperone.  I have plenty of great chaperones for our retreat.

Student attendence at choral dept. events
Please keep in mind that our choral dept. handbook states that all students must be present at all choral department events. Parents must notify Mrs. Stevens directly via e-mail or voice mail for conflicts. She will be the final arbitrator in deciding to excuse a student. Emergency situations are the only exception to this rule. Failure to follow this rule can result in the immediate removal of the student from the group.
EVS students attendence at dept event.
Dear parents,

As stated in the handbook, EVS students must attend all events unless excused by Mrs. Stevens. This can not be done unless she speaks with parents directly via e-mail or phone. Students who miss events can be removed from the choir! Attendence is critical!
